The app and notifications
Install it
PocketPairings installs from the browser — there is no app store to visit.
- On a phone — use Add to Home Screen when the site offers it.
- On a computer — use Install app in the address bar.
Installed, it runs full screen like any other app, and card images stay cached so it keeps working when the hall's wifi does not.
Notifications
The site can tell you when something happens, even with the app closed:
- a new pairing is up
- an opponent reported a result, or one of yours was confirmed
- an event you are registered for starts tomorrow
- an event is about to start and your decklist is still missing
- an organizer has asked you to judge
Everything that is sent is also kept, so a notification you miss is still there afterwards — the bell in the header, or your notifications.
You choose which kinds you get, under Account → Notifications. Switching one off stops both the push and the stored copy.
On an iPhone
Apple only delivers web notifications to a site that has been added to the home screen. Install it first, then allow notifications — otherwise the switch has nothing to send to.
