Terms of Use

Last updated October 2026.

1. Who we are

PocketPairings ("we", "us") is operated by José Pedro Valentim Oliveira, trading as Olivra Studio, enterprise number 1042.712.485, Leenstraat 3, 3200 Aarschot, Belgium. See the legal notice for our full details. By using the site, the apps or the API, you agree to these terms.

2. What PocketPairings is

PocketPairings shows pairings, standings and results of Pokémon events, and offers tools around them: decklists and team sheets, player pages, articles, guides and tools for organizers. Organizers run their events in TOM, the official Play! Pokémon tournament software; PocketPairings publishes what TOM and the organizer provide.

The organizer is the official source. If a pairing, standing or result on PocketPairings differs from what the organizer announces at the event, the organizer's version counts. Questions about an event's results go to its organizer.

3. Accounts

You can follow events without an account. With an account, you are responsible for what happens under it: keep your login details to yourself and give us accurate information, including the Play! Pokémon ID you link to your account.

Children. Pokémon events have Junior and Senior divisions, so many players are minors. There is no minimum age to be on PocketPairings, but a child under 13 does not get an account of their own: a parent or guardian creates the account and adds the child as a player they manage. The parent or guardian is responsible for that child's use of the site and agrees to these terms on their behalf. Creating an account asks for your date of birth to check this; a parent or guardian creating an account for the family enters their own.

4. What you post

Decklists, team sheets, articles, images and anything else you add ("your content") remain yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, format and share your content on PocketPairings and in link previews of it, to the extent needed to run the service. That licence ends when your content is removed, except for copies in backups, which disappear over time, and decklists that are part of an event's official record.

Only post content you have the right to post. Card images and Pokémon names belong to their owners; see section 9.

Whether a decklist or team sheet is visible to others follows the event and your privacy settings, as described in the privacy policy.

5. Articles

Articles are written by members of the community and reviewed by our editors before they are published. Editors may suggest changes, which the writer accepts or not, and may decline or unpublish an article. The writer stays the author and owner of the article under the licence in section 4, and published articles may be shown next to advertising.

A writer can delete a draft at any time. A published article has an address people may have shared, so to take one down, email jose@olivra.be and we will unpublish it.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use PocketPairings to:

  • harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post hateful, sexual or otherwise unlawful content;
  • submit false results, pairings or match reports, or claim someone else's Play! Pokémon ID;
  • scrape the site in bulk, overload it, or get around rate limits, access controls or API keys;
  • collect other players' personal information.

We may remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend or close accounts that do, in proportion to what happened.

7. Organizers and modules

Stores and leagues get organizer access after we approve their application. Organizers are responsible for the events they publish and for having the right to publish their players' pairings and results.

Paid modules are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment provider Stripe. A module renews automatically until you cancel it. When you cancel, the module stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and that period is not refunded. Modules are intended for organizers acting for their store or league; this does not limit any right you have under mandatory consumer law.

8. Supporters and advertising

Supporter tiers are pledged on Patreon, and Patreon's own terms apply to the payment, renewal and cancellation of a pledge. Supporter perks follow the pledge: they start when it is active and end when it ends.

PocketPairings may show advertising to cover its costs. Supporters do not see ads.

9. Pokémon and other trademarks

PocketPairings is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company or Creatures. Pokémon, card names, card images and related names are trademarks and copyrights of their respective owners and are used to identify cards and events.

10. Availability and liability

We work to keep PocketPairings running and accurate, but it is provided as it is. It can be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when an organizer's connection drops, and we may change or stop features.

We are not liable for the outcome of an event, for errors in data that comes from TOM or from an organizer, or for indirect damage such as lost prizes, travel costs or lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

11. Ending

You can stop using PocketPairings at any time and delete your account yourself, under Account in your profile, or ask us to by emailing jose@olivra.be. What happens to your data then is described in the privacy policy.

12. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we will say so on the site before they take effect, and the date above changes with them. Belgian law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Leuven, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to go to the courts where you live.
