How PocketPairings works
PocketPairings is two things that stay in step with each other.
- The website — where players and spectators follow an event as it happens.
- The desktop app — what an organizer runs the tournament in, on Windows or macOS.
An organizer runs the event in the desktop app, alongside TOM (Tournament Operations Manager), and syncs. Pairings, standings, results and the round timer appear on the website straight away, for everyone.
TOM handles registration and pairing generation in its .tdf files. PocketPairings reads
those files; it never writes one.
